How to take, dose oils with CBD

CBD oils are the most popular product of the CBD market, mainly due to how simple they are to take. Oils, depending on their composition, can be administered in different ways, depending on the individuals.

Sublingual administration under the tongue is the most widespread and effective method; just add a few drops of CBD oil under the tongue and wait a few moments before swallowing it so the cannabinoids spread quickly in the body. In general, CBD oil manufacturers recommend this method and advise to keep the oil under the tongue for 30 to 60 seconds.

This absorption method is ideally suited to CBD oils that are packaged in bottles with a dropper pipette; the application of the product under the tongue is then greatly facilitated, as well as the dosage which remains always accurate.

CBD oils sometimes have a very pronounced flavor depending on the manufacturing process and the ingredients that compose them. Sublingual assimilation poses a problem for consumers with sensitive palates. For these people, it is better to opt for another method of taking the doses or to choose other forms of oil such as those in capsules.

Oral administration

For those who do not like the taste of the oils, it is possible to absorb the oils by diluting them on food or in liquid.

CBD oil taken orally can be deposited on a piece of bread or on sugar but also added to more complex foods. To add CBD to your favorite dish, it is possible to mix the CBD oil with another oil and use it later to season food.

When the CBD oil is absorbed, the effects are felt less quickly and are often less intense than with the sublingual method.

If you do not appreciate the taste of oils, which method should you choose?  There are many other methods of absorption of CBD: it is possible to choose CBD capsules that are composed of oil trapped in a capsule that one can swallow without feeling the taste; it is also possible to choose e-liquid CBD for vaping, mainly intended for those who smoke or those who are already vaping.

DOSING OIL WITH CBD

CBD oils are available in several concentrations that must be tailored to the intensity of the desired effects and the dosage that each person determines for themselves.

Understand the concentration of oils

CBD oils contain different doses of CBD depending on the brand and the manufacturing process used; the dosages are generally expressed in percentages and change between 5 and 20% per bottle.

The concentration of CBD is, therefore, expressed as a function of the total amount of oil contained in a lab flask: for example, a 10 ml flask dosed with 5% of CBD will contain 500 mg of CBD.

To facilitate the chart below, it is generally easier to know how many mg of CBD is in a drop of oil. A 10ml vial of oil contains about 200 drops, and the calculation is made depending on the dosage shown on the vial: for example, a 10 ml vial dosed at 10% (1000 mg) will be about 5 mg of CBD per drop.

CBD concentration for 10ml 2% 200 mg 4% 400 mg 6% 600mg 8% 800mg 10% 1000 mg 20% 2000 mg 30% 3000mg

Determine the ideal dosage

Determining the dosage that suits you best requires patience and several tests. It also depends on many parameters that will be different for each consumer.

Different factors to consider

The first issue to take into account is your weight. In fact, a dosage of CBD during studies on the molecular level is usually done according to the weight of the individual. Then we take into account the reason for using CBD; some people take CBD to calm the pain, others to sleep better or just to relax.

It is also possible to take into account the tolerance of the consumer to dosage; a person who is used to taking many drugs or consuming cannabinoids will be more resistant and will usually have to choose a higher dosage.

Choose and adapt your CBD dosage

Start from a minimal dosage and increase what you take as you go. We can, therefore, suggest dosages at 10 mg to 15 mg of CBD per day to begin with: for example with a bottle of oil dosed with 5% of CBD and a recommended dose of 10 mg per day, you can take 2 drops twice a day.  If the dosage does not suit you, you can increase it as you go to achieve the desired effects.
